On 25 November, a meeting was held between the staff of NAC Kazatomprom JSC and employees of the Anti-Corruption Agency to discuss the Concept of Anti-corruption Policy of the Republic of Kazakhstan for 2022-2026. The event was also attended by representatives of Samruk-Kazyna JSC and employees of the nuclear holding subsidiaries –KAP Logistics LLP, KAP Technology LLP and Semizbay-U LLP.
Alibek Aldongarov, Kazatomprom's Chief HR and Digitalization Officer, noted that Kazatomprom pays careful attention to anti-corruption issues, promoting the ideology of integrity and "zero tolerance" for corruption among its employees. The purpose of the event is to raise awareness of the Company's employees about the measures taken in the country to fight corruption and a constructive discussion of their implementation.
“The compliance system has approved itself as an efficient and effective mean of fighting corruption in the quasi-public sector, and its main tool is the prevention of corruption,” said the head of the Compliance Service of Samruk-Kazyna JSC, Dauren Akshalov.
Advisor to the Chair of the Anti-Corruption Agency, Anar Zharova, being the head of the working group on the development of the Concept of anti-corruption policy, told Kazatomprom employees in detail how the strategic document was created, what are its main tasks and planned measures for implementation. "Separately, I would like to note the systematic work organized in your company regarding fighting corruption. We, as the authorized body, see Kazatomprom's interest in this issue and express our gratitude for the ongoing anti-corruption measures," Anar Zharova concluded.
Samat Sarbasov, Head of the Kazatomprom Compliance Service, presented information on the principles of Kazatomprom’s compliance systems functioning and noted that, taking into account the public status of the Company, they include not only anti-corruption, but also elements such as compliance with listing rules, sanctions compliance, environmental compliance, etc.
During the meeting, the parties discussed legislative initiatives in the framework of fighting corruption and tentatively agreed on constructive cooperation on topical issues.
